In
1988, Bell's began their series of Bell's Christmas Decanters,
featuring the new Bell Shape trimmed in dark green and hand finished
with 24 carat gold. The first three were produced in the 75cl
size and in 1991 they moved to the 70cl size, in line with EEC
legislation which came into force earlier that year.
These Christmas
Decanters came in a dark green presentation canister with a carry
cord until 1992, when the current presentation box was introduced.
From Christmas 1994, these Decanters were filled with Bell's Scotch
Whisky Aged 8 Years. In 1996 the Christmas Decanter's dark green
trim was changed to a rich dark red and cream, mirroring the colour
of Bell's bottle livery.
Bell's Christmas
Decanters were initially themed to depict Christmas in the era
when Blended Scotch Whisky, and indeed Bell's were born, and have
moved on over the years to portray the art of producing fine Scotch
Whisky and the quality ingredients in Bell's 8 Year Old.
